StudyLock
Parent setup guide

Install StudyLock

StudyLock installs in three steps: create an account, add the extension, and enter a pairing code. The extension installs on a child's Chrome, the dashboard shows the one-time code to enter, and setup works the same way on Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook.

Chrome Web Store listing: pending review

How does installing StudyLock work?

Three steps take a parent from account to a paired device — the first happens on any browser, the second and third on the child's Chrome.

  1. 1

    Create a parent account

Sign up with an email and password, or continue with Google. One account manages every child profile from any browser.

  2. 2

Add StudyLock to the child's Chrome

Open the Chrome Web Store listing on the child's device and add the extension. The listing is pending review, so this step is not live yet — the button below will link straight to it once StudyLock publishes.

  3. 3

Pair the device with a one-time code

Start pairing for the child's profile in the dashboard, then enter the one-time code it shows in the extension on the child's Chrome to link the device.

What does a parent need before installing?

A Chrome browser on the child's device

StudyLock is a Chrome extension, so it runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook alike.

An email address or Google account

Used once, to create the parent account that manages every child profile.

A few minutes at the child's device

Adding the extension and entering the pairing code both happen on the child's Chrome, in person or over a shared screen.

Common setup questions

Is the StudyLock Chrome Web Store listing live yet?

Not yet — the listing is pending Chrome Web Store review, so the install step is not clickable yet. A parent can still create an account now; the extension step becomes available the moment the listing publishes.

Does installing StudyLock need access to the child's device?

Yes, once. Adding the extension and entering the one-time pairing code both happen on the child's Chrome, either in person or over a shared screen. After that, a parent manages blocking and focus schedules remotely from the dashboard.

Can StudyLock be installed for more than one child?

Yes. Each child gets a profile and a separate one-time pairing code, so a single parent account can manage several devices.

What happens if a pairing code is not entered in time?

A parent can start pairing again from the dashboard to generate a fresh one-time code for the same profile.

Ready to set up StudyLock?

Create a parent account now — pairing the child's Chrome takes two more steps once the extension is installed.
